Hi all,
Each year the Romanian Amateur Radio Society issues certificates to the Top 44 WWFF Activators in the World, and the Top 44 WWFF Hunters in the World. I am pleased to announce that there were three VK's who appeared in the Top 44 Activator list for 2019 (activations for this award are based on reaching the 44 QSO threshold). Mike VK6MB came in 9th spot in the world with 149 references. Gerard VK2IO came in 12th spot in the world with 124 references. Myself, Paul VK5PAS came in 22nd spot in the world with 73 references. The Top WWFF Activator was SP5UUD from Poland with an amazing 282 different WWFF references activated. Mike VK6MB also came in 18th spot and Gerard VK2IO in 28th spot for the Top Activator per QSOs category. Mike made 10,021 QSOs. Gerard made 8,177 QSOs. The Top Activator QSO category winner was IQ5QO from Italy with 52,627 QSOs. Unfortunately, there were no VK's in the Top 44 WWFF Hunter list for 2019. 73 and '44', Paul VK5PAS VKFF National Co-Ordinator.

Hi all,
A reminder that WWFF Australia has a bank account. The purpose of this account is to officially record 'donations' received from individuals, to cover the cost of trophies for events such as the VKFF Team Championship. These trophies are only made possible by the generous donations made by certain WWFF/VKFF supporters. Marija VK5FMAZ is our Treasurer and has prepared reports for 2018/2019. They can be found on the WWFF Australia website at....... https://www.wwffaustralia.com/bank-account.html Should you wish to contribute any $$, please use the above account. Any amount is greatly appreciated and will assist in the ongoing issuing of trophies. Whilst I am away Mark VK4SMA will be handling all logs from VK5 park activators and processing VKFF awards for South Australian applicants. Mark will also be processing awards for overseas applicants. Mark's email for VK5 logs is [email protected] Thank you Mark. Special event awards, e.g. NPWS, National Wattle Day, Boomerang, will have to wait until I get back. Jonathan VK7JON will be updating this Facebook group and the Groups.io page with the latest VKFF award recipients. Thank you Jonathan. I will update the WWFF Australia website when I get back in early October. 73 and '44', Paul VK5PAS. Hi all,
Don't forget National Wattle Day which is coming up on 1st September 2019. A special certificate will be on offer to those who activate a VKFF reference on National Wattle Day. Following the day, please drop me an email to let me know that you activated a park on that day. Sadly I won't be available on the day. I suspect this will be a popular day and will be a great opportunity of logging numerous Park to Park contacts. 73 and '44', Paul VK5PAS vk5pas@wia.org.au Here is a breakdown of VKFF award certificates issued to date:-
Total certificates = 3,415 The VKFF program is certainly in a very healthy position. Thank you to the State/Territory reps for all their work behind the scenes. 73 and '44', Paul VK5PAS VKFF National Co-ordinator. EXCITING NEWS.

With the addition of new parks to the VKFF program, the number of parks in the Murray River Parks Award has now increased. Around 21 x parks in Victoria, 7 x parks in NSW, and 2 x in SA have been added. There are now 7. levels. All qualifying parks have been integrated into Logsearch. More info on the Murray River Parks Award can be found at...... https://www.wwffaustralia.com/murray-river-parks-award.html 73 and '44', Paul VK5PAS VKFF National co-ordinator Hi all,
Please note that due to personal reasons, Mick VK3GGG has stepped down as the VK3 VKFF rep. I would like to personally thank Mick for his ongoing support of the VKFF program. Mick will be a big loss as the VK3 rep, as he very diligently uploaded logs and very promptly distributed awards to VK3 applicants. Peter VK3ZPF has kindly offered his time and will now be the VK3 VKFF rep. Many thanks Peter. All VK3 logs are now to be sent to Peter at [email protected]. Peter will also process all VKFF award applications from VK3 applicants. Info on the VKFF Team can be found at....... https://www.wwffaustralia.com/vkff-team.html 73 and '44', Paul VK5PAS VKFF National co-ordinator From the 30/12/2017 issue of the Advertiser digital edition.
A new park, and some additions (here in VK5). "A NEW conservation park has been created on Yorke Peninsula and three existing sites in the Adelaide Hills and South East have been extended, adding more than 1000ha to the parks network. The new Thidna Conservation Park, on southern Yorke Peninsula, protects 857ha of remnant native vegetation in a landscape. Thidna is an Aboriginal word meaning “foot” and comes from its position at the end of the peninsula. Sturt Gorge Recreation Park in the southern suburbs has nearly doubled in size with the addition of 190ha of revegetated land at Craigburn Farm. Black Hill Conservation Park, next to Morialta, has had 53ha added to its northwest boundary. In the South-East , Butcher Gap Conservation Park has grown by 74ha." I will arrange for a VKFF number & 5CP number for Thidma. 73 and HNY 2018, Paul VK5PAS. G'day all,

There are now just 5 days left for you to activate some New South Wales parks or get some New South Wales parks in your log for the special NSW National Parks & Wildlife Service 50 year celebrations award. The award is issued for having activated 5 different VK2 references, or logging 5 different VK2 references. So far 3 activators have qualified and 11 hunters have qualified for the award. More information can be found at..... http://www.wwffaustralia.com/nsw-npws-50-year-celebrations.html 73 and '44', Paul VK5PAS VKFF National co-ordinator The WWFF program has been running in Australia since March 2013, so about 4 & 1/2 years. In that time the program has exploded in popularity, with park activators now being heard almost every day of the week (even in the middle of the week). I have now issued just a little short of 2,100 VKFF certificates to VK's and other amateurs all around the world during that period. Now has come the time that I need a little help to keep the VKFF program afloat, as I am spending a number of hours each day in front of the computer, maintaining the website, issuing awards, and uploading logs. Much to the chagrin of my very understanding wife Marija. This together with a number of other pies I have my fingers in. I have now sourced some very good volunteers who are going to assist in the VKFF program, and I thank these individuals very very much. They are as follows:- Ian VK1DI. Gerard VK2IO. Mick VK3GGG. Mark VK4SMA. Hans VK6XN. Jonathan VK7JON. Commencing tomorrow (Wednesday 18th October 2017) the above gentlemen will act as State/Territory representatives in the VKFF program. They will be responsible for uploading logs for activations from their respective State/Territory, and also processing/forwarding award applications/certificates for amateurs from their respective State/Territory. So, for example, if you activate a park in VK1 (no matter what your call may be), the log will now be forwarded to Ian VK1DI. If you activate a park in VK2, then Gerard VK2IO is your contact, etc, etc. If you apply for a VKFF award (excluding OCCFF & the special awards), you will receive the award via the respective State/Territory rep mentioned above. Hans VK6XN will also be doing VK8. I will continue to upload logs and process awards for VK5's. I will also continue in my role as the VKFF National co-ordinator, and thanks to the volunteers mentioned above, I will now be able to focus more on National VKFF issues. More info on the new VKFF Team can be found on the WWFF Australia website at..... http://www.wwffaustralia.com/vkff-team.html I again, thank the gentlemen mentioned above for volunteering their time. It is greatly appreciated. Do not hesitate to contact me should you have any queries. 73 and '44', Paul VK5PAS VKFF National co-ordinator.
