ACT (VK1)

AUSTRALIAN CAPITAL TERRITORY (VK1)

Australian Capital Territory (abbreviated ACT), formerly, "The Territory for the Seat of Government" and, later, the "Federal Capital Territory", is a territory in the south east of Australia, enclaved within New South Wales. It is the smallest self-governing internal territory in Australia. The only (and by definition the most populous) city is Canberra, the capital city of Australia.
The ACT also has a small strip of territory around the southern end of the Beecroft Peninsula, which is the northern headland of Jervis Bay.

There are currently 50 qualifying parks in the ACT. They consist of Namadgi National Park, numerous Nature Parks, and the Bimberi Wilderness Area.

ACCESS & IMPORTANT PARK INFORMATION

Kinlyside VKFF-1774 - Public entry to Kinlyside Nature Reserve is presently not permitted. The reserve is presently under a rural lease and formally closed to the public under the Nature Conservation Act 2014.
Mount Pleasant Nature Reserve VKFF-1775 - Avoid operating close to the Mt Pleasant summit car park. It is regularly patrolled by Australian Federal Police officers for Duntroon Military Academy.
Rob Roy Nature Reserve - it is surrounded by rural leases. There is only one access via a walking track on the Western side, which I have used to climb Mt Rob Roy, the farmer does not mind walkers there.
