PARK ACCESS.
Some VKFF references currently either do not allow access at all, or have restricted access.
Activators are encouraged to research the VKFF reference they intend to activate prior to the activation.
All we need is one poor interaction and it will potentially put the program into disrepute.
Please familiarise yourself with the VKFF rules which can be found on the WWFF Australia website.
Please be aware of the VKFF Rules, 4.2 re 'Lawful Access'. The rule states:-
"It is the responsibility of the activator to ensure that access to the reference area is permitted. This includes using lawful access routes into the reference area, and compliance with all relevant local laws and regulations whilst in the reference area".
And a reminder that Rule 4.10 states:-
"VKFF activators will ensure that they observe due diligence with regards to wildlife they encounter during any activation. Activators are not to cause any damage to the environment in which they operate. This includes deliberate damage or actions resulting from recklessness. It also includes littering. Whatever you take to the activation, please take home with you".
If you do become aware of a park where there is either restricted or limited access, please send an e-mail to VK5PAS ([email protected]), the VKFF National Co-Ordinator, and the information will be recorded on the WWFF Australia website on the relevant list of parks for that particular State/Territory; the WWFF Directory; and parksnpeaks.

Why are parks listed in the program if they cannot be accessed or have limited access?
Circumstances change. Some parks may be currently closed due to various circumstances, but become publically accessible at a subsequent time.

In Victoria, many of the Streamside Reserves and Bushland Reserves are situated on private property. These can be viewed on MapshareVic and selecting 'Public Land' in the Layer Themes toolbar.
